The George Crombie Trust owns a number of flats within the retirement development at Whinhill Gate, Aberdeen. This development of retirement flats was purpose-built by McCarthy & Stone plc in 1998/9. Following the decision of the Trustees to sell the Trust’s previous properties, the beneficiaries were relocated to this modern development offering up-to-date facilities and security.
Each flat comprises a livingroom, double bedroom, fully fitted kitchen and bathroom.
Amongst the facilities available to residents are the residents’ lounge, laundry, visitors accommodation and an onsite residents’ warden.
A service charge is levied by the Factors on each flat, which is currently met by the Trust. The Trust calculates rent for each flat, according to the applicants ability to pay taking into account the applicants income and capital resources. The receipt of local authority benefits does not disqualify an applicant from receiving accommodation or assistance from the Trust.
All applicants must be in good health and it should be noted that the Trust does not provide any nursing care.
In applying for accommodation, any applicant must provide full details of their financial circumstances and be able to attend for interview with the Trustees.
